Snowalk Doubles in Size

Malaysia’s Snowalk indoor snow centre, which first opened in 2011, has had a major upgrade and has doubled in size.

Located in the futuristic I-City, ‘Snowalk’ was already home to igloos, ice houses, ice slides, snowmen, ice sculptures and millions of LED lights for special effects including recreating the aurora borealis.

However the centre has been expanded to cover 4,500 square metres, around twice its original size, with ice sculpture an even more major theme in the redevelopment with 10,000 tonnes of ice used and a team of 30 ice sculptors from Harbin in China flown in to create sculptures.

There is also a ‘ski zone’ and a new ‘real snowfall’ area.
