The number of indoor snow centres operating in China has now passed 70 and there’s little sign of a slow down in new projects.

Among the new generation, Nanning Milun Ice & Snow World, a major new indoor winter sports complex planned for the Nanning Wanda Mall in Guangxi, has moved into its development phase following an official signing ceremony on 23 June 2026 at Wanda Vista Nanning. The project, also known as Nanning Ice & Snow Kingdom Joy World, is scheduled to open in July 2027.

The redevelopment will convert the mall’s former indoor theme park and rainforest attractions into a 40,600‑square‑metre ice and snow facility, including 21,880 square metres of real‑snow terrain. Plans outline three ski slopes with a maximum vertical drop of 21 metres, designed for both recreational use and professional training.

A 1,920‑square‑metre Snow Play Zone will offer family attractions such as ice slides, castles and a maze, while a 1,200‑square‑metre indoor ice rink will support skating and ice sports. The commercial zone will add 10,000 square metres of retail, dining and children’s entertainment.

Engineers are designing the centre as a year‑round winter destination, maintaining a constant -5°C environment through stationary snowmaking systems and artificial drifting snow machines. Capacity is set at 6,600 visitors per day, and the venue will include a dedicated ski training centre capable of hosting competitions.
