Snowtunnel Announce First Facility Will Open Later This Year
Snowtunnel has confirmed the site for its Global Headquarters and first public demonstration facility, following the international unveiling of its patented “Endless Mountain” system. The company will establish its base in Melbourne’s rapidly expanding western corridor, positioning the precinct as the launch point for a new category of urban snow‑sport experiences.
Set to open in late 2026, the development represents Snowtunnel’s move from R&D into real‑world deployment. The existing structure will be reconfigured around the project’s centrepiece: a 12.5‑metre‑high, 16‑metre‑long rotating Snowtunnel™ lined with real, groomed snow. The installation delivers more than 600m² of continuously rideable terrain, enabling an uninterrupted downhill run for skiers and snowboarders throughout the year.
“Securing our first site in Melbourne is a definitive milestone,” states Scott Kessler, CEO and Co‑founder of Snowtunnel. “We’ve spent years engineering the magic of the mountains into a city-based experience. By choosing Melbourne’s West, we are making the thrill of alpine adventure accessible to a massive, sport-loving population just minutes from the city centre. This isn’t just a concept anymore, it’s becoming a reality.”
The Melbourne facility is designed as a full‑scale showcase for the technology, combining Snowtunnel’s corporate headquarters with its first operational Snowtunnel™. The site will host demonstrations for investors, partners and the general public ahead of a broader international rollout. Interest in the company’s Test Rider Crew, who will be the first to trial the system, has already surged.

Snowtunnel’s model aligns with the rise of compact, high‑throughput “urban adventure” venues such as wave parks, which bring traditionally remote sports into metropolitan settings.
The announcement comes during a period of accelerated commercial expansion. Snowtunnel has already secured its first overseas territory agreement in the United Kingdom, with additional negotiations underway in multiple regions.
“The interest we’ve seen from around the world since our reveal has been overwhelming,” says Daniel Portelli, COO and Co‑founder of Snowtunnel. “This Melbourne site is the bridge between our engineering phase and our global future. By establishing our Global HQ and first showcase here, we are providing a permanent stage to bring this Australian innovation to the world.”
Beyond the Snowtunnel™ itself, the Melbourne venue will feature a Snow Play Zone producing fresh snow daily for families and newcomers, a Professional Progression program led by certified instructors, and full equipment rental to ensure visitors can participate without specialist gear.
