Mall of Saudi To Have “Largest Indoor Snow Slope in the World”

The new Mall of Saudi will have the biggest indoor snow slope yet when it opens, possibly in 2025, according to the boss of the company building it.

In an interview with Arab News, Alain Bejjani, chief executive of the Majid Al-Futtaim (MAF) group which build malls that house indoor snow centres Ski Dubai and Ski Egypt, among many others, confirmed Ski Saudi would be “the largest indoor ski slope and snow dome in the world,” the publication said.

There have been differing reports about how long the indoor slope would be over the years since the project was first announced with some more recent reports indicating it would no longer be the longest. The current longest slopes are a little over 600 metres and located in France and Germany. The three biggest indoor snow areas by area are in China however.

Describing the Mall of Saudi which will house the indoor snow centre as a “humungous project” Mr Bejjani said $4.3 billion is expected to be spent on the project over the next four years.

Besides the ski slope and hundreds of shops it will house six hotels and 1,600 residential units.
