China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC Group), which claims to be, “…the world’s largest and strongest metallurgical construction contractor and operation service provider,” has partnered with The Polin Group, which describes itself as “…a leading single source amusement park supplier,” to create the Kunming Indoor Rainforest and Snowpark in Kunming, Yunnan, southwestern China.

The attraction will consist of an indoor rainforest themed waterpark, as well as a snow park and adventure park.

Details of the snow park have not yet been released but Polin say the complex will be completed in three phases with the indoor snow park, “an ice and snow world, with a snowy area and snow-capped area” to be completed first.

The rainforest water park will follow, themed on local folklore and including a spa and sauna and finally the outdoor adventure park project which will include high-altitude and water-based attractions.

China is believed to already have more than 20 indoor snow centres, most built in the past few years.
