Shanghai Snow Centre Gets FIS Accreditation
Shanghai L+SNOW Indoor Skiing Theme Resort has strengthened its position in China’s winter‑sports industry by becoming the country’s most FIS‑certified indoor venue. By 2026, its three trails had secured five International Ski Federation accreditations, giving Shanghai a fully compliant site for global‑level competition. According to assistant general manager Wang Xiaobo, the certifications enable the resort to host international ranking and championship events, with 12 competitions planned this year.
As the training base for Shanghai’s ski teams, the resort delivered more than 7,000 sessions in 2025, including national and Paralympic camps preparing for the Cortina-Milan 2026 Olympivcs. Management aims to build a full development pipeline, from youth programmes to elite training and public skill assessments.
Alongside its sporting credentials, the resort continues to expand its commercial footprint. Festive programming in celebration of Chinese New Year including a 100‑tonne horse‑themed ice sculpture, cultural performances, regional cuisine and themed parades is expected to lift Spring Festival visitor numbers by 20 percent year‑on‑year.
Since opening in September 2024, the resort has built a strong local customer base, with 85 percent of visitors from Shanghai and overseas arrivals tripling to nearly 8 percent of total traffic. The resort will operate until 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve to balance guest demand with staff needs.
