Second Indoor Snow Centre Announced For Brazil

The company that runs Brazil’s only indoor snow centre has announced plans for a second, larger facility, this time in São Paulo, the most populace city in South America with over 22 million people living in its metropolitan area.

Little has been announced about the plans so far. However, operator Gramado Parks have announced a budget of R$200 million for its construction and say it will be larger than its existing facility in Gramado, which has a building size of 16,000 square metres and an indoor “Snow Mountain” area, dedicated to snow activities, which covers 8,100 square meters. The park maintains a temperature of -5°C to -3°C to ensure a real snow experience.

The São Paulowill also offer snowboarding and skiing, ice skating and children will be able to slide down the Snow Mountain and visit the Kingdom Castle.

No timescale for the construction of the indoor snow centre, which will be the fourth in the southern hemisphere after facilities in New Zealand and South Africa as well as the first Snowland in Brazil.
