Bonski To Run 12 Centres By Year End; New Jinan Bonski Announced

China’s Bonski Group, already the planet’s largest indoor ski areas operator, including most of the world’s five largest centres, has announced plans to build a new centre in Jinan.  

Authorities have officially announced the bidding results for Phase I design, construction management, and long-term operations of a major indoor ski dome at Jinan’s Cuizhai Area Block 39, marking a decisive step toward realizing a year-round cultural-tourism destination on the north bank of the Yellow River.

The project is set to integrate snow sports with retail, entertainment, upscale hospitality, and office space, positioning the site as a flagship attraction in the region’s evolving urban landscape.

A consortium led by Bonski / Sunac (Beijing) Cultural Tourism Planning & Research Institute Co., Ltd., alongside Benchmark Fangzhong Architectural Design Co., Ltd. and Zhongsheng Haoyuan (Chongqing) Engineering Design Co., Ltd., has secured the Phase I design contract. The team brings together deep expertise in cultural-tourism planning, commercial architecture, and engineering implementation, and is expected to deliver a forward-looking design that balances innovation with operational excellence.

Meanwhile, construction management and long-term operating rights for the ski resort have been awarded to Guangzhou Bonski Tourism Development Co., Ltd., in partnership with Shenzhen Sunac Jiasheng Construction Engineering Co., Ltd.

“With a proven track record in developing and running domestic snow-and-ice attractions, Guangzhou Bonski is tasked with ensuring the resort meets international standards and operates sustainably over the long term,” a spokesperson commnenmted.

The announcement comes as Bonski continues to expand its footprint across China. By the end of 2025, the company expects to be operating 12 ski domes nationwide, with several additional projects underway. Newly contracted developments for 2025 include Hangzhou Bonski and Jinan Bonski.
