Antarctic Snow World Opens in Malaysia

Malaysians don’t have to travel far to experience snow. They can now just drive up north to Penang to find snow, ice sculptures and even ice slides at the new Antarctic Snow World.

Located at Straits Quay, Antarctic Snow World is the brainchild of Angel Amusement Park Sdn Bhd, led by shareholder and director Leonard Leong, who told local media,

“We used 2,700 blocks of ice, each weighing 112kg, to recreate the snowy experience of Northern Europe. To enhance the experience, we have incorporated the latest snow-making technology. The snow is made from pure water, free of chemicals, making it safe for families.”

Launching the indoor snow park, which can accommodate up to 300 visitors at a time, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow highlighted its significance in diversifying Penang’s tourism offerings.

He noted that the park complements the state’s reputation not just as a hub for food and culture but also as a destination for family-friendly attractions.

“Attractions like Antarctic Snow World keep Penang competitive by drawing visitors from near and far. On behalf of the state government, I thank the visionary entrepreneurs and investors who continue to believe in Penang’s potential,” Chow said.
