New Indoor Snow Centre for Tianjin

The go ahead for a new indoor snow centre at China’s coastal city of Tianjin, southeast of capital Beijing.

The formal agreement to construct Tianjin Indoor Ice and Snow World was officially signed on September 2, 2024. The project will see an investment of 2.5 billion yuan ($350m) by Mingxing Ice & Snow (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd.

Details of the new facility, to be built in the Binhai New area, a freeport, are limited so far, although it will be one of China and the world’s largest, able to accommodate up to 8,000 people on the slopes simultaneously.

In addition to skiing, the new centre will feature ice and snow-themed hotels, commercial complexes, and cultural attractions, including the “Ancient Salt System” and “Colourful Salt Field.”
